Conquer the world in a lunch break
without spending a single cent.
In which a giant lion poops
on a villager’s head.
BLACK & WHI TE 2
TREAT YOUR PET GIANT LION TO AN
ALL-IT-CAN-EAT VILLAGER BUFFET
Skip past the tutorial mission and Black & White 2 will set you and your lovable
idiot creature loose on an island full of bored villagers just looking for a divine
being to worship and/or be murdered by. The first playthrough is for winning by
impressing the non-believers with a spectacular town until they convert. The
second is for arming your people for military conquest and marching on the
heathens. The remaining hours are spent terrorizing people with fireballs and
lightning; slapping your creature silly; teaching it to eat people and poop on
things; and of course, setting that poop on fire and flinging it around the island.

RISE OF NATIONS INGLE-PLAYER A CIVILIZED WAY TO DO BAT TLE THROUGHOUT HISTORY
How appropriate that one of the most
underrated games in the mold of Age of Empires
and Civilization should also be one of the most
amazing strategy demos ever. With four of the
full game’s civilizations to choose from, four
different map styles to see what they can do,
and the complete technology tree at your
disposal, it’s practically a whole game. Feel
pride in your society as you build it up from a
simple village into the ultimate warrior nation—
without getting buried in the deep stats and
turn-based economics of a full round of Civ 5.
There’s no multiplayer action in the demo,
unfortunately, but you can skirmish as much as
you like against up to seven AIs at once.

MOUN T & BLADE: WARBAND
SINGLE-PLAYER RIDE INTO BAT TLE IN SEARCH
OF THAT RPG DEPTH YOU CRAVE
Bored of simply following someone else’s story? Mount & Blade is an epic
roleplaying sandbox, giving you enough scope to build an empire and run around
on your own, playing with weapons modeled with full physics. It’s not the
prettiest game, but you won’t find many that give you the same feeling of being
in control. The trial version lets you get your character to Level 7—plenty of time
to run amok in the world, pillaging and looting every town you come across. After
all, you’ll be moving on to the next demo before you have to face the
consequences ofyour actions.
